Lunch & Learn (Box Lunch) Programs
Georgia/Carolinas PCI offers a variety of Lunch & Learn (or Box Lunch) programs targeted toward the continuing education of architects and engineers. G/C PCI implements these programs on behalf of PCI which is a registered provider through the American Institute of Architects Continuing Education System (AIA/CES). Programs are presented from an industry perspective and reflective of AIA requirements, provde professional continuing education. Box lunch programs are a win/win/win. They can be presented in your office, with a free lunch provided, during non-billable time - and meet your state licensing continuing education requirements. Programs are offered in 1, 1.5 or 2 hour formats - offering a rapid-paced visual exploration of the basic concepts of precast/prestressed concrete design. Presentations are solutions oriented, and demonstrate design possibilites. Additionally, valuable PCI design resources (printed and electronic) will be brought to your office - including material to be left for your architectural or engineering library, such as Designing with Precast/Prestressed Concrete, Architectural Precast Concrete Manual, Architectural Color & Texture Guide, PCI Design Handbook (structural), Hollowcore Manual, recent issues of ASCENT Magazine, PCI Journal, and more...

High Performance Precast/Prestressed Concrete DesignCredit: 1.0 HSW LU | Program Number: LIVEHPP Recent code changes, increasing green building requirements, and a challenging economy are just some of the factors increasing the demand for high-performance structures. The concept of ‘high-performance’ encompasses sustainability; and goes beyond by requiring optimization of all relevant high-performance attributes for a project on a life-cycle basis. This presentation will provide an overview of precast/prestressed concrete design and fabrication, in the context of high performance structures. It will cover the versatile, efficient and resilient attributes of precast concrete design solutions. This program is a rapid-paced visual exploration of the basic concepts of precast design, presented from an industry perspective and reflective of AIA requirements, provides professional continuing education. The following is a general outline for this presentation: High Performance Precast Design
Additionally, we will bring several samples and provide numerous design resources (printed and electronic), including material left for your library such as Designing with Precast/Prestressed Concrete, PCI Design Handbook, Architectural Precast Concrete Manual, Architectural Color & Texture Guide, ASCENT Magazine, PCI Journal, and more.
